I'm Confused

From CBS News :

From Los Angeles to Chicago, Houston to Miami, a " Day Without Immigrants "   Monday meant a day boycotting work and school in favor of rallies and marches that filled streets for miles.

"We have far exceeded our expectations," said Mahonrry Hidalgo, chairman of the Immigration Committee of the Latino Leadership Alliance of New Jersey. "The events are intended to show solidarity and, at the same time, send a message that injustice against the immigrant community is unacceptable. This is not the end of our struggle. It is the beginning."

I'm sorry. Shouldn't that read "injustice against the ILLEGAL immigrant community"? Because that's who the proposed legislation is about...people who are in this country ILLEGALLY. I have friends who are LEGAL immigrants and are busting their ass to become US citizens...so excuse me while I don't have a lot of sympathy for you. You're here because you're from a country adjacent to the U.S...kudos to you for making it in. But now you're upset that somebody's doing something about your non-taxpaying ass? Boo fucking hoo.

Yes, I see the irony...white people who don't cut their own grass want you out. Yes, I realize that the timing of this proposed legislation in regards to the failing Iraq occupation, Bush's slipping approval rating and high gas prices. I'm not backing them.

But I'm still going to call bullshit on you. No, I am not a racist, but thanks for the knee-jerk reaction. If you don't believe me, I'll e-mail you a list of Hispanic girls I've slept with or dated if that helps.

By the way, you're going to need some support on this issue. One way to NOT get it? Wave around a flag from Mexico. That's a good call, brotha...show how much you want to stay in America by waving around a flag from the country they're trying to send you back to. Kudos.

You know what you ought to do...you ought to get out and vote to help change things. Oh wait. You can't. Good luck with that.

Bring on the hate mail.
